Trident - Three-leg Shunt Regulator

Trident Regulators in Testing
|
The Trident is single, hand built, ultra-low noise, three-pin shunt regulator. Designed specifically for the Buffalo-II,
we have been tweaking these in the Twisted Pear skunkworks for a while now. While the Buffalo's on-board linear regulators
deliver solid performance, the Tridents will help to squeeze that last drop of hifi juice.
We fix the voltage of the modules at built time, but shunting current can be user-customized with a single through-hole resistor.
Modules will ship with a few different sample resistor values. Application-specific combinations (Combo for Buffalo-II) will
ship with resistor values specifically for that application.
We are also now offering the Buffalo AVCC shunt regulator module for sale as a standalone option. The circuit is similar to that of the Trident,
uses a single voltage reference to drive two regulator outputs at 3.5VDC. This module was designed specifically for powering the analog sections
of the Buffalo-II and Buffalo-III DACs, and comes with the mounting hardware for that application.
The two Trident combinations for Buffalo DACs are the same, except for the mounting hardware is specific to the DAC module.
