I have noticed that the SPDIF rx module, (configured as SPDIF in, I2s out) will pass what I consider junk data, and the Opus then tries to process it resulting in a static/crackle noise through the speakers.

And of the 4 LED's on the SPDIF module, only 3 seem to react as I would expect. Even if the transport, or CDplayer is powered off, I still see the LED labeled NONAUDIO as lit up green... That seems odd to me. should it not go RED when the player is off, stopped, paused etc?

I'd expect that would be the path to engage the muting circuit in the Opus Dac?

Has anyone happily deployed a mute scheme on Opus? I am using Volumite BTW.

In full disclosure, a couple other DAC's I have that are of another brand, but still employ the WM8804 rx chip, they all crackle and sputter when changing a CD or power cycle the player. This isnt really a TP issue so much as the IC's behaviour I suspect... But do other users of the SPDIF rx have their NONAUDIO led go red when the transport of off?

I wouldnt notice this as a big deal, but I run DAC-direct to my amps with 102db speakers...so the crackle is loud!

EDIT: Could this post please be moved to SPDIF section?
