I'm using the WM8804 receiver in combination with a double mono COD DAC at the moment. All connected according the provided instructions.
Now, I like to do some experiments with a minidsp in combination with both boards and using the digital in and out with I2S protocol.

As a first step I like to connect the WM8804 module. I did not tested it yet, but before opening my system I like to better understand the following. according to the minidsp documentation, this unit should have a fixed master-clock of 12.288mhz. The WM8804 module has a 12.000mhz crystal.
Can the WM8804 be a slave from the minidsp and follwing the master-clock of the dsp? Or is it better to change the crystal (if possible) to 12.288mhz on the WM8804 module and make the dsp slave?

Thanks!

Frank

Great question - the honest answer is - I don't know... But if it were me I would try using the stock clock with no changes in master mode.

I can only point you here:
