I have just ordered the S/PDIF 4:1 MUX/Receiver module to use with the Buffalo DAC. I am planning to connect a Squeezebox Classic and two computer CD/DVD-ROM drives to it. The Squeezebox’s S/PDIF RCA coax connector outputs 500mVpp into 75 ohms. The CD/DVD-ROM drives I have measured (Toshiba, TEAC) appear to output at TTL levels. Do I need to make any changes or additions to connect the devices I have just described?

No you should not need to do anything special for TTL as long as the high pulses don't exceed 3.3V.

If you want to be safe, you can use a voltage divider to reduce the level.

Cheers!

Thanks Russ.

It seems like the last person who borrowed my test tone CD never returned it. I will burn a new one and use it to measure the S/PDIF output of all the CD/DVD-ROM drives I have handy. I want to know how consistent the output levels are.
