Wil the S/PDIF Transciever WM8804 board work on 5V instead of 7,5V
Are there issues know when switching over to 5 Volt?

Yes it will work fine at 5V. It has a local 3.3v low drop out (ldo) regulator, and you just need enough headroom for it.

The 7.5V number you see is historical. When we first released the transceiver, it was meant to be paired with the Opus DAC, which has both 3.3v and 5v regulators. The 7.5v is for Opus, but will work for both, so it was an easier number to recommend.
