I am considering buying a Buffalo to use as a DAC between my Squeezebox 3 and Naim amplification. I assume I will need the following :- Buffalo DAC module, IVY I/V or similar. Power supply for Buffalo and power supply for I/V. Not sure about whether current or voltage ? I would be using SPDIF (75 ohm co-ax) in and then RCA out to the preamp. Is this all I will need ? Appreciate your thoughts.

You would need:

Hi Colin,

Bufallo + LCDPS (or similar) running 6.5(suggested) at the outputs.
IVY + LCBPS (or similar) running +/- 15V.

You can wire from the SPDIF jack directly to the buffalo.

Buffalo draws ~50ma on VD and ~175ma on VA.

IVY draws ~50ma idle from both supplies.

You should not need anything else except two dual secondary transformers like the ones we carry. :)
