Hi,

(edit: Problem solved: RST does not fit to RST inverted) :)

Music is playing!

I change my question below to description for the records ...

I have the WM8804 and the metronome board connected to a DF1704 + 2×PCM1704 board.

I set the swiches according to the data sheets:
WM8804: SPDIF in/SPDIF + PCM out
Metronome: 96kHz

I connected SPDIF to WM8804 SPDIF in; When no source is connected non-audio LED is green, all other LED red. When I connect source (44/16) all LED on the WM8804 board are green. --> obviously this works so far.

I connected WM8804 board to metronome via G, D, LRC, BCK from the AIF connector to the PCMIN connector of the metronome. Did not connect SCK as suggested in the manual.

Here comes the more difficult part. The WM8804 + metronome should replace a CS8421 receiver/upsampling board. I tried the following connection:

Metronome --> DF1704
================================
D --> DIN
G --> GND
LRC --> LRCIN
BCK --> BCKIN
MUTE --> MUTE (Automute jumper set)
RST NOT connected to RST (actually RST inverted: must be high to let music play)
SCK --> XTI (see figure 14 in DF1704 data sheet http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/df1704.pdf)

WM8804 and metronome are supplied with regulated 5 VDC. According to the regulators data sheets this should be OK, on the other hand TP suggests 7.5 VDC. Seems to work.

Thanks;
Christian.
