I've just assembled my USB receiver and thought I'd test it by wiring it up to some headphones.

The board was detected fine by my Mac, but I'm not getting any audio through the headphones. I've verified that the jumper's in the SPDIF position and just for kicks I moved it to I2S and jumpered DO to DI just to see but no change.

One thing I did notice is that the caps don't match those listed in the BoM. They're 16V 100µF while the BoM lists 25V 220µF. I have no idea whether this makes a difference or not.

Can anyone suggest anything to check?

The Mac and iTunes had its volume up as high as it would go. Adjusting the volume normally gets me a little pip noise which I heard coming from the speakers with nothing connected, through the headphones when connected directly to the Mac but not via the receiver/DAC. I'm not sure how I'd go about adjusting any volume settings on the receiver itself without wiring some kind of micro up to it.

My only guess is that it is related to selecting the correct output device, but I am not a Mac guy, so I am not sure.

I made sure the output device was selected correctly. I've used a Meier Corda 3MOVE before which is based on a similar chip to this module and I set it up the same way. Is there any way I can easily check the functioning of the rest of the device? I'm planning on hooking it up to an Opus so I'm not too fussed if the analogue outs aren't working but if the rest isn't then I have a problem. =)
