Could you please share the approximate dimensions of the DAC and the output stage boards (for the 8-channel output, if it matters)?

Or, if you are not ready to release that information, could you please answer this one: I have a 9"x6" free spot, will the new DAC and the 8-channel output stage fit there?

Thank you,

AK

Hello, Can you tell us when you will be able to give us details of this new version and when will it be released?
Thank you in advance for your information.
Cordially.

I tried both in different configurations, sharing my findings with other diyers.
In our opinions, Crysteks are WAY better that NDKs in resulting sound quality, whatever people say... NDK cause thinner sound, that is much detailed but very much less bodied and exciting.
Please keep Crysteks in BIV or anything that is REALLY better, surely NDKs are not...

ES9028/9038 chips are capable of THD compensation, normally compensating for distortions originating in the DAC itself. Is it feasible to program these chips to compensate for low-order harmonic distortions downstream, say, in speaker drivers, where second and third order harmonics are in the 0.2-0.5% range? This would potentially elevate the system to an entirely new level (given that the end-user has the capability to calibrate it)... So is it feasible?

Brian,

On the Products page, the new Buffalo-IIIse-Pro image is linked to the older B-IIIse page...

Cheers,

Andrey

I just finished my buffalo es9038pro dac. I used John Broskies UnBalancer Two, which is an unbalancer that has very small gain, almost nothing. My input resistor is 58 Ohms. The sound is extremely good and detailed, however, I do have a problem with the Bass. It is quite heavy. For music with little bass, like chamber classical music, it comes out excellent, but music with even a little bass, it could blow my speakers away. Has anybody have a similar problem? I tried different resistor values and it does not seems to make any difference. I am kind of stuck on what to do. The only thing I can think of is putting a high pass filter after the resistors. I am not sure if this is the way to go as far as the output is concern.

Any ideas, out there?

Alex

Have the plans to release an 8-channel ES9038PRO-based DAC with a matching output stage being shelved?

If so, what would you suggest as an 8-channel solution, given that Buffalo III is no longer offered?

Thank you.
