Hi - I've been running my Sennheiser 600 headphones from the Legato out. I have a dual/mono setup and connect the headphones to half the balanced out - SE. The Sennheiser is 300 ohms. I drive it about 3/4 volume for listening.

Is there any advantage of adding a headphone amp? I did find that when I connect a CAT preamp, SE, and dive the headphones from its output, I lose some clarity, but can go louder and get a fuller sound - perhaps it tones down the highs and I increase the volume to compensate and perceive that as "better."

Thanks, John

Do you have the buffers installed on the Legato's SE outputs?

You should be able to use the SE outputs' R+ and L+ as balanced +/- outputs from each Legato. The buffers will provide more than enough current, and you can adjust gain (if needed) in the SE stage of each board.
