Hello,

Should I mute the DAC outputs when the WM8804 receiver reports an error? (using a relay)
I suspect some designs implement this in case some loud weird sound would come out?

In case of the SPDIF Transceiver, is it necessary or does it just not output all zeroes?

Thanks !

It depends on the DAC.

Well,

It's a Burr-Brown 1704k DAC(s) with Op-Amp outputs. I plan to implement another discrete output as well.

On the imput side - a DF1704 Digital Filter.

The Twisted Pear Audio SPDIF used as a receiver to I2S -> Digital Filter 1704

Why "it depends on the DAC"? Do you mean DAC chip?

Thanks !
