Hi folgs.

I just received the Buffalo module

I am wondering if can put both of the Buffalo supply inputs on a 12V SLA battery?
If yes - I mean it would be in the range of the Sabre spec - Do I need to consider anything else?

What difference in quality can I expect if I'd drive the DAC with one battery.

I would put the 12V through a LCDPS first, as 12V is a bit on the high side. It will probably work, but the opamp for AVCC will likely get pretty hot.

I don't think there will be any significant difference using a battery or a transformer into LCDPS.

Just to get this thread finished up.

I am running now 2 * 7,4V 4500mAh NiMh racepack batteries. Works great.

I'll apply some small filtering and maybe a bit of buffering to the battery pack at least for the analog side.

I hope I am one of the lucky ones who gets to order the Buffalo this week. I have been waiting since I discovered you guys at the beginning of August.
Anyway on the subject of a battery power supply. I am curious on your comment that you feel will be very little to gain by going to this route. There is so much discussion on various forums about the advantage of using pure DC from a battery. could you further comment and enlighten me.
