Setup: Buf24 ver. 1.2

Volumite with new firmware, see http://www.twistedpearau...t.aspx?g=posts&t=736

Problem:
I'm having a faint "tic-tic-tic" constantly. I think it's the Sabre controlling the volume. It's faint, but it's there.

Checking the SDA line, I can see, that there's a continuously data transfer, even without me turning the pot. Why's that. I mean, when the volume registry is set, it's set.

When the 85 is removed from it's socket, the DAC is 100% quiet. So it's def. the Volumite that's causing the issue.

That very likely is an issue with the routing of your I2C lines to the DAC.

YOu need to be very careful routing the lines so as not to pick up EMI. Keep them away from PS lines.

I have to understand this. You mean, that the I2C lines picks up EMI, causing the Sabre to "jitter" the volume ?

No, the I2C lines are digital signals which can produce EMI. So you need to keep them away from analog signals and power supply wires.
