completed moving my Buffalo 3 SE project into a new enclosure. Series 20 by Par-metal, aluminum rather flimsy, but it does not look bad. Should have bought it wider though. So I have this usb board which cen be entirely powered from the computer or that can be bypassed and an independent power supply can be used. For galvanic isolation between the 2 functions of the card -usb and xmos- 2 independent power supplies are needed, which would mean two additional tranformers and real estate is not abundant. So, could I use the placid HD as a power supply for this card? The xmos part needs 5v andl the usb part from 4.2v to 5v. The Placid HD outputs 5.25v in my case so I would have convert to a lower output using a resistor in series, and raise the amperage in the card?.... or not. Thanks,

You should be OK to run the B3SE at 5V.

But I honestly would probably use separate supplies.
