On the product page, there are 2 options for the full kit—either Buffalo 3 (no buffers) or Buffalo 2 (which I assume has the buffers). In all of the forum recommendations, buffers are advised. I am going to use with the Buffalo 3SE, but if I want the buffers, should I order the Buffalo 2 kit? Will use bal outs for preamp and wire up the SE out for headphones. And am I correct that the kit with buffers has the (sm) buffers pre soldered?

Thanks—I'm really looking forward to getting parts ordered. Will be my first digital DIY; most of my experience has been with discrete analog and power supplies.

Sorry about that. The page was a little out of date. I just fixed it.

The Legato kit will work well for Buffalo-I/II/III/IIIse.

You are correct about the buffers. I pre-mount them before shipping.
