Hello,

I have a question about power transformers. I wonder whether I can use the following substitute transformers:
A. 9V+9V (10VA) instead of the 'stock' 9V+9V (15VA)
B. 15V+15V (25VA) instead of the 'stock' 15V+15V (30VA)

A (9V+9V (10VA)) is rated at 0.55A.
B (15V+15V (25V)) is rated at 0.8A.

I checked the manuals. Buffalo II needs 290mA, and IVY III needs 150mA per rail for the total of 300mA.

It appears B supplies more then double of IVI III need. However, A is oversized only byabout ~47%.

Can I use both A and B instead of 'stock' transformers?:Think My primary goal is size/weight management.

Thank you in advance, Dmitry

Those transformers should be fine.

The 9+9V will be 0.55A per secondary, which you would use in parallel, which doubles the current - so it's actually 1.1A
