Looking for advice on how to get the volumite working with the Buffalo 32, Volumite built up with Vreg in place, connected to DAC board but powered from the LCDPS at 5 v, removed firmware chip from Buffalo board and used firmware chip supplied with Volumite and located on volumite board. The DAC works at full volume as before but the volumite has no effect on the volume control? Presume it would not work at all if the their was a problem with the power supply or connection between DAC and Volumite - should i be looking for a problem on the volumite itself?

Also one question regarding Toslink module, i havent used this yet but if and when i do should i connect to spdif in or D1?

Many thanks and the Buffalo 32 sounds fantastic, i much prefer it to my Linn Ikemi CD player!

It is better to configure the volumite without its VREG. Then just use all 4 terminals of the I2C header on the buffalo 32.

For the TORX module I would use it directly to D1 and GND.

Pictures help us diagnose things.

I am very glad you are enjoying the DAC. :)

Cheers!

Russ - If you wire toslink to D1 and GND, can you also wire in a USB spdif input to spdif and GND at the same time? Or would you somehow have to switch them?

You wouldn't want to wire them up to the same post, I think you can switch between themt with an Otto , or you can get a 4:1 Mux and get two extra inputs!
