Hi all,

I have a basic question that I'm hoping you can offer some guidance with. I'm adding a WAVE IO usb to I2S card to my dual mono Opus. Currently it's set up with optical and coax input going to a selector switch which goes to a TP s/pdif transceiver (WM 8804) then to a metronome and off to the dacs. Real estate is tight in the case so I was wondering if I could eliminate the optical/coax selector switch and route both outputs to the transceiver board without and problems. I was planning to use an OTTO to take the I2S from the WAVE IO and the metronome and then send the OTTO output to the dacs, and to use the switch to control the OTTO.

Thanks,

Paul

You can't connect two spdif signals to the same input.

Thanks Russ,

I went ahead and used a smaller switch to switch between the optical and coax spdif signals to the receiver. Luckily I was able to squeeze everything in the existing case, but I needed to fab up a new back plate for the I/O. I should be done and ready for testing this week.
