I am hoping someone from Twisted Pear can answer this.

I own an Oppo BDP-95 Blu-Ray Disc Player which has two ES-9018S Sabre Chips inside them. One is used for 2 Channel Stereo, the other is used for Multi-Channel.

The power going into these chips are shared with other devices within the BDP-95, which I feel - hampers the performance. A few have built separate 1.2 and 3.3 shunt regulators to use in their player. These are home-brewed regulators that they built.

The question is - has anyone used Trident voltage regulators or can TPA recommend using their regulators inside a BDP-95 to get better performance? I understand I will need to purchase a separate power transformer as I am prepared to do that.

Thanks much for your time!!!

They should work fine.

I cannot advise you in how to implement them, however, as I do not have an OPPO player to reference.

Just find a power source within the player that is around 5-8VDC to source them.
