There are 2 options for Resistor 8: 470 ohms and 220 ohms (replacement). Which one do I use? The replacement value? This is the very latest Placid HD BP. Thank you!

Hi guys,

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread, but I was wondering:
Is this some new tweak? Because I don't remember having a spare 220 Ohm R8 in my HD 2.1 kits (well, if my memory serves me well), and BOM also shows 470 Ohm (which is on my boards now).

Is it advisable to apply this tweak? I see that Russ actually advised to change R8 to 220 Ohm in the other thread, but want to make sure.

Thanks.

If you don't have any problems with a low output voltage on start-up, then there should be no reason to replace your current 470R resistors...
