Hi Russ,

I was wondering what the minimum voltage drop that is required for the placid to operate effectively. For example, if you have 10.5v after rectification and smoothing, what is the maximum voltage the placid would be able to supply/regulate.

Thanks

I'm very curious about this too... I have a pair of older Placids (BP V2.1.2, Placid V2.0) that I will be using with a BuffII (5.5v) and Legato (likely setup as a L3, so +-15v), but with different transformers than you source.

Also, I'm considering trying a Placid HD for a higher-current application... 5v 2.4A. I know I'll need serious heatsinking.

Will it work? And what voltage headroom will I need?

TIA!
