So, no AC2 bullets at all yet (functionality, availability, price)? I would start collecting glt's hifiduino approved parts but I would rather see what related products TP has on the horizon instead...

We hope to release it with working firmware for several configurations, along with well-commented source code so people can customize as desired. Is it still an Atmel? Is the source C?
Setting up a new forum to share code and firmwares is a great idea. The amount of flexibility and possibilities makes it impossible to document each setup, for users with a little programming knowledge it should be possible to mix their own firmware.

We took delivery of the new boards I think its just a matter of smoke testing one. :)
I have code ready to go for stereo Buffalo III with SPDIF selection, balance
, volume, mute, IR controll, RE control.

I think the years' end is approaching very, very soon so I wouldn't count on shipment this year.
BII code will likely have to be altered slightly, the hardwire is simply different fi. the lower clock (80MHz) on some models.

Hello Russ / Brian,
Quick question re AC2 - will it be able to support multiple I2C bus?
I have been wanting to build a no compromise muti channel DAC / PRE but have held of due to uncertainties on the control front.I plan on converting my dual mono Buff2 / Legato 3 DAC into a multi channel DAC pre for active crossover duties; 3 way stereo and 2 channels for Centre and Surround. Total of 8 channels from 2 x Buff 3 in stereo (AES output from Lynx AES 16 hence 2 x Buff 3 required) and 2 x Buff 2 all needing remote volume control. All DAC's, control, output stages and PSU in one 2U case and the transformers in a second case.
I am not concerned about being able to trim the individual channel levels although it would br nice! - that can be done passively or in the software, just being able to write registers to all DAC's to set them up and then have volume control. Currently using GLT's Arduino solution and its working very well (thanks GLT, great work) for Dual Mono but as i understand it would need new code and a I2C multiplexer to make it work with additional boards.
If there is no plans for these type of features in AC2 it would be good to know in advance so i can get on with trying to make the multiplexed Arduino solution work.

Hmm... well it would be possible to do more than one I2C bus, but it is not directly supported. Yet it would be fairly easy to re-purpose a couple of unused ports to do that.
