Now that I'm wrapping up the construction of a Buffalo III Dual Mono, I'm thinkiing about "enhancements." I would like to have remote control. The following are features that I would like to control remotely: Source selection, volume (gain), and phase. The first two are essential, the third, optional.

If anyone has implemented remote control on a Buffalo III Dual Mono and is willing to share how they did it, I would be extremely grateful.Dancing

Hi eseal,

One way of using a remote for volume control, source selection, filter settings and all other settings is using HiFiDUINO. This is however not completely compatible with the B3. Therefor you need to do some programming.

The easiest way:
If you want to use the original firmware you can simply add a remote controlled linear potentiometer and connect it to the ADC connector (ADC, 15) of the firmware chip. I think you can use arduino for selecting sources while still using the original firmware. Correct me here if i'm wrong. There are probably some other options for selecting inputs using a remote control.

I have a concept for you that uses a motorpot for the volume control and has an IR on/off function...
I develloped it together with others (I could'nt do it allone :) )

regards,

Jordo

I'm not able to attach a pdf or a eagle file, sorry dude Eh?
