This is the best news I've heard for a long time! :d/ I was on the verge of going down the Arduino route, but it worked out quite expensive and I'd prefer a tailor-made TP solution.

The real roadblock has been ESS permission to publish registers from the datasheet. This seems to no longer be an issue.

That makes sense. A pity it took them so long, but I'm sure they had their reasons.

A lot of people are going to be very happy to be completing their builds.

I for one, will be glad to put my modules in a proper enclosure. I'm a bit fed up with my biscuit (cookie) tin now!

A release would be great, along with the USB module and MRB1 it could propably complete my setup.

Stackable relay module.

Modular, Relay, Board, 1

The you build N-pole dual throw switch for analog/digital signals and uses G6K relays.

Thanks. In no need for that. Single source only.

[OT] About the powersupply something. Any news ? [/OT]

Audio controller, USB transport and "stackable relay module"? = multi-format mux?
Considering the likely ability of AC to set the DAC chip registers I'm sure that a "relay module" could handle and select between multiple input sources and formats including IIS, DSD and S/PDIF.

That last part could get a little difficult as the SPDIF switch is a real switch on the board. You could use another relay to switch it of course, but you'd still have to work on the DAC board itself.

Not if the S/PDIF is TTL level

Would this allow me to control a custom relay attenuator, with no other involvement of controlling other devices with the AC1/Femto?

When complete will the controller support different resolution displays? I'm interested in using a lower profile display but want to make sure there would be code, or code that can be relatively easily changed to support it.

I in fact have prototype AC2 board in my hands right now. I am writing some firmware for it right now.

It will directly support SPI/I2C/and Parallel(4bit mode) displays. I will provide code for the displays I have used. LCD/PLED via 4-bit and VFD via SPI.

AC2? I thought the AC1 hadn't seen production yet. Wouldn't this simply be AC1 V2.0 then?

I'd like to:
- switch the DAC & power amp on separately (last one delayed @ boot, first one delayed @ shutdown)
- switch another relay between MUX and future USB/I2S converter
- control MUX
- replace the Volumite (I2C) in the DAC
- connect an IR receiver for remote control
- drive a display, ideally one with touchscreen to easily set options (FRAM/Flash?).
Would the AC2 be suitable?

AC2 because it is actually significantly different from the original.

*you* likely could do most or all of those things, but that does not mean I will. :)

Also Ac1 was finished and produced, just never offered to the public.

Do you anticipate the board footprint will be similar to the AC1? Also what are the power requirements for the board? As always, thanks for all of the great work.

Of course I don't expect you to do all of that. As a computer engineer I should be capable of programming it, provided there is a way to change it :)

AC1 is also completely open source. :) And actually quite inexpensive for a complete platform.

Hmm, this suggests you have some idea of price. Care to share, or too early?
