Have you tried just going direct from the metronome to be sure it is configured correctly?

All the Buffalo needs is a bit block to get a lock.

Check with a scope and make sure you are getting good signals on all three required signals at the DAC.

Hi Brian,

I have the jumper installed. When using the spdif boards all works fine. Only when using the teleporter metronome combo i don`t get to hear any sound. I will hook it up as Russ advised and try to measure the signals with a scope.

When I add the teleporters there is still no music. I checked the connections multiple times and they must be OK.
I have set the metronome to upsample to 192 Khz. but also tried 48 and 96 Khz

When I measure the signals with a scope it looks like the data signal get messed up somehow.

Are any of those scope shots with the Teleporter in place?

Also, is your CAT5/6 cable homemade?

I think there may be two sorts of problems here.
First Teleporters may not work in sense of electrical failure. It is highly unlikely but one of them may be faulty. Check on board voltage regulator. Can you test them in other setup ?
Second problem states that your Teleporters work but because of some things, they and the rest of your system can't talk to each other. Before jumping onto more serious matter, try to eliminate some "glitches":
- as mentioned use only regular cat5 network cable, try very short first,
- make sure Teleporters couple are set to transmitter and receiver,
- receiver is on the receiving side of the signal,
- ground them properly,
- make sure both units have assigned signal pins in the same way,
- properly connect signal wires and keep them short,
- stay away from any devices or wires which may produce strong electrical fields,
- provide correct voltage supply to Teleporters,
- my setup with Logitech Touch requires master clock signal to be used, maybe yours too,
- for some reason my setup doesn't like shielded cat6, maybe neither nor yours,
Once I got my setup running, it has been rock solid steady since but working on it I noticed that it can be quite sensitive to its environment.

Are you certain you don't have a signal swapped? Especially the word clock and data, but check all of them.

Allright. I checked all wires, but all wires are correct connected.

I do the building in a different room, but I had no working amp in that room. Therefore I needed to move the setup to the living room to test it. Yesterday I thought that I had measure some ac on the DAC outputs, but when I moved it to the living room it stayed dead silent. Today I connected it all again in the building room with no amps. And I did indeed measure AC at the outputs. Moved it to the living room again and connected it to my amps. No sound!

I had a unfinished DIY chip amp lying around. All I needed to do to finish it was connect all internal wires. So I finished the chip amp. Now I could do some testing in the building room. And you won't believe it, but when I hooked it all up there was music coming from the speakers . Moved it to the living room again. No sound

So there has to be something different in the living room. The only thing I can think of is that the sockets are all grounded in the living room. The sockets in the building room are not. The dac itself is not grounded to the socket, because it still has no chassis (only a wooden plank ). The cd-pro however is grounded to the power ground. It must have something to do with the different grounding conditions. I can't think of anything else or perhaps the wireless router. This is standing quite close to it all. But is it was the router I expected to hear at least some sound. I have to perform a test to confirm my conclusions.

When I was writing this reply the dac had played without any unlock. So I'm really happy that the teleporters do work. Now to get them to work in the living room.

Yep very likely the problem is that the two have too large a difference in ground potential. There are several ways to fix that. You could connect the DAC ground to your mains ground(easiest). or you could connect grounds of only the two devices (there are many ways you could achieve this). You could also if you are confident it won't harm anything try to simply lift the CD-pro from mains ground.
