I built one buffalo DAC, played with it for awhile (say 6 months)s and after I had got it how i want it I purchased another one and built it identically, and put it in the same box. The only thing they share is the power supply for th 2 DAC boards (separate Placids for the two legatos)

What I am finding is I feel like the 'older' one sounds a little bit different to the newer one, like more low end and maybe a bit more open.

Would this be normal behavior as the electronics I guess settle in and get to an operational level. And as a result could I expect the new one to sound more like the older one as time goes on? I have only noticed this after running the older one for at least 1000 hours...

thoughts?

Cheers!

-Dave

2014-04-04T09:17:46-07:002014-04-04T09:17:46-07:00biggsd

Hello all

Just a quick esoterical question about the buffalo.

So, I have built a DUAL STEREO dac system.
