hi can i use the 32s with ivy only for headphones?
how should i configure them?

The Buffalo32s has a more advanced version of the IVY (IVY II) built in. It can easily power and headphones directly from the DAC outputs.

Yes. You can actually decrease the gain of the output by adding resistors to get the output level you desire. The optional resistors are through-hole, so there is no need to do any SMD work. Edited by user Sunday, September 27, 2009 5:25:54 PM(UTC)

actually i heard complains about low volume not high.

Sorry, I have a head cold and my brain is working at 25%.
If you remove R22/23 and R36/37, you can add through-hole resistors to increase the gain.
