PartsconXion sells something similar Burson Audio discrete opamp replacement but cost more. I would be concerned about the increased signal path length, you might lose everything you gain. If there was a socket to plug it into it be ok. From what I read on there forum those guys liked it.

Hi
Thxs for answer
I think Burson have them delivered from these guys
Anyway the discreet I/V buffers are normally preferred and from what I´ve heard TP considers making a discreet version themselves?

FWIW: I do not believe "Discrete > IC" It can be, but it is very hard to make a discrete circuit that has the performance of a really good opamp, as it is much easier to get low tolerances and part to part matching. There are no hard and fast rules here. Even though we are likely going to have a discrete I/V stage, I doubt it best the opamp-based IVY2 that Russ is also working on.

In the next couple months.

My discrete I/V stage is not an opamp at all, in fact it employs no feedback

I am finalizing the design after the first round of prototypes. The last big hurtle is dealing with DC offset at power up/down.

I did some work on that this morning, and I think I have a workable solution. :)

Now to lay it out...
